Dr. Burton Edelson awarded 2015 Sir Arthur C. Clarke Award-International (Posthumously)

Dr. Burton Edelson, former Director of Comsat Labs and former Associate Administrator of NASA won the Sir Arthur C. Clarke Award--International for his many contributions to the world of space research and applications.

This was awarded in the United Kingdom on the July 17, 2015. This award in part was to recognize his role in the design, launch and retrofit of the Hubble Space Telescope--on the occasion of its 25th anniversary.

John Edelson, one of three sons, delivered a tribute on this occasion. The 2014 winner of this Award was Jean Jacques Dordain, the Director General of the European Space University.

The 2013 winner was Dr. Joseph N. Pelton for his role in the formation of the Arthur C. Clarke Foundation, his role in the establishment of the International Space University and his role as the Founding President of the Society of Satellite Professionals International.
