Dear Comsat Alumni:
The COMARA organization is alive and well. We had a great social event and annual meeting at the That's Amore Restaurant on September 23rd. Nearly 50 of us attended the International Philharmonic Concert at the Strathmore Auditorium on October 20th. The legacy project is churning along and a new effort is underway to create a Permanent Satellite Fall of Fame. We hope to keep you involved in all these activities and more. These events and other events are highlighted in our newsletter.
The main objective of COMARA is to keep in touch will all Comsat Corporation alumni and keep an up-to-date list of e-mails and addresses. This is so that we can socialize, share key milestone events, and also mobilize should there be a need to do so with regard to pension benefit issues. We have reduced dues to the lowest possible level of $10 per year just to make sure that we can maintain our vital contacts list. Some of you have paid between 2002 and 2006, but our records don't show that you have paid in 2007. The money is not as important as having an active contact list that is up to date.
This letter is to entreat you to help us out in the following way. Just send us a check for $10.00-this will cover your 2007 dues and will bring you fully up to date. This will also ensure that we have your telephone number, e-mail and mailing address. This will ensure that all of you will keep getting our newsletter and allow us to contact you efficiently if there should be a future problem with pension benefits. If you would like you could send us a check for $20 and this would cover not only the dues for 2007 but also have you fully paid up for 2008 as well, and saves the treasurer some work.
Please fill out the enclosed form and send it in today so you will keep getting the newsletter and learn of our various activities. If for some reason it is not convenient at this time to send in the $10, please send in the form anyway. Questions can be sent to members@comara.org.
