Tickets Available for COMARA members for Pelli Presentation

This is an email from Judy Christensen, Montgomery Preservation, Inc. Thu, 1 Jun 2006.

2-June-2006 update: Tickets will be available at the door for those who respond by Sunday June 4. The $35 (at the door cost) is being waived for former employees of COMSAT. Reply to this email or send an email to members@comara.org to request tickets. Please include your name, phone (just in case...) and number of tickts.

This is a very generous offer for COMARA. If we can get some idea of interest, perhaps someone in Rockville can pick up our tickets and we can meet prior to the presentation to distribute them. For those who have time to participate in the charrette, this is an terrific opportunity to see the urban planning process. If you are interested, reply to members@comara.org and let me know how many tickets you can use. Watch to home page for progress. www.comara.org/

Ron, we have seats left for the presentation on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at the Parilla Performing Arts Center on the campus of Montgomery College in Rockville. The reception and food is at 6 pm, the presentation is 7:30 pm. I would like to offer tickets to COMARA and to the Legacy foundation if you have members who would like to attend. We would like to have you there as well. If we had an overwhelming demand for paid tickets, we would have sold them to make our expenses, but it is graduation and first summer vacation time. MPI's goal is to awaken the County to what they have as a scientific and architectural landmark, and we will manage the finances. Please spread the word that we will welcome COMSAT alumnni and board members and provide tickets.

I also sent a note to Mr. Martin of the Legacy foundation.

Let me know via email. I can send the tickets out to you if you wish via U.S. Postal service.,

I work for the City of Rockville in real life, but in this instance, I am here on my day off as a volunteer for Montgomery Preservation. I am at City Hall if you want to stop by and pick up tickets. I can send them via mail as well.

Also, I copied the photo of the front of the building at night from the Gallery for the program and would like to give photo credits. That photo really brings out the future Cesar Pelli design philosophy.

Note: See the collection of pictures at http://www.comsat-legacy.org/gallery/ provided by Steve Teller and his team. I assume the picture is from the Labs Building Gallery.
