COMARA News - July 2007 - Nominations and News Request A newsletter is being reviewed by the Board and will be sent in a day or two. That will contain information about our 2007 Social, September 23, That's Amore Restaurant (Rockville, Shady Grove Road), and COMARA Night at Strathmore on October 20. We are also preparing the next quarterly newsletter, and preparing for the election of three Directors. These are the reasons for this brief newsletter _____________________________________________________________________ Call for Nominations for Director We need at least three people for the 2007 election for Director. You can of course, nominate yourself. Deadline is first week of August. There are nine Directors on the Board. Each year, three of the positions are elected for a three-year term. Electonic and mail ballots will be available in August. The Board meets about once every two months - with a couple of extra meetings as needed. These are usually at noon near River Road. The Board considers services to our members and steps needed to maintain the organization. 1) Planning for Socials 2) Planning for Other Events 3) Preparation of quarterly newsletters 4) Information of interest to retirees 5) Preserving the COMSAT Legacy 6) Treasurer and Webmaster reports Elected Directors get no pay. One requirement is access to email and the internet. If you would like to be considered for election, or would like to suggest someone, please reply to this email, or send to Jack Hannon. We welcome those who can compose newsletter or web site articles (you don't need to know anything about web pages), maintaining member email addresses and mailing addresses, responding to email, planning social events, and tracking information of interest to our members.
