I wanted to update you on a number of significant developments relating to COMARA over the past few months. First of all, as many of you are already aware, COMARA experienced a number of difficulties with the COMARA website earlier this year and, as a result, we have developed a new website that should be easier to maintain while still delivering valuable content for our membership. As with any undertaking of this type, a few glitches can still arise from time to time, but we are confident that, on a longer term basis, this website will enable COMARA to better serve our membership’s needs for many years to come. Best of all, the website address has remained the same – www.comara.org.
Second, I am pleased to announce that the three Directors whose term ends this year, Denis Curtin, Dan DiFonzo and Bob Kinzie, have all indicated their willingness to serve as a Director for another three-year term, and they are being put forward as the Board recommended nominees for an additional three-year term, running from 2021 through 2023.
Finally, given the current pandemic situation, it will not be possible to hold a traditional inperson annual meeting and fall social this year, but instead COMARA will have its first ever virtual annual meeting, which will take place on Sunday, October 4, 2020, conducted via Zoom. While we will miss the comradery of an in-person meeting, this new format will actually for the first time make the annual meeting accessible to a broader range of COMARA members, wherever they are in the world. We are very excited about this change in format and the possibilities for improved connection with all COMARA members. More details will be provided over the next few weeks as to the logistics and programming for the annual meeting.
